I still miss the pre-Flashpoint DC Multiverse.

Thanks for this.

Most welcome

But I admit, I stopped reading 'em long before Flashpoint (that's what launched the New-52?). I think I lost touch with superhero comics around the time Cerebus was parodying the Sacred — er, Secret Wars II and Gaiman's Sandman was coming to a close, bringing with it my last (regular) direct connection with the DC universe.

Make mine Eddie Campbell!

Re: Most welcome

Flashpoint - the second DC-published mini-series of that ilk, what saw print in 2011 - is indeed what launched the "New 52". Much of the character/continuity lineages dating back to World War II: gone. Marriages long-beloved in the sight of many readers, from Barry and Iris to Wally and Linda to Lois and Clark(!): gone. Retroactively.

The only DC-published series I read these days? Astro City. Because it isn't set in the currently-official DC Multiverse. So Kurt Busiek and his artistic partners can provide the kind of superheroic fiction diet I crave.
