Pointless Bragging [Feb. 13th, 2007|08:40 am]
Young Geoffrey
It's 8:39 and -17, something like -27 with the windchill.

I about 5 minutes I will be well-swaddled and will roll my bicycle down the hall and into the streets.

Stand in awe, people. That is all.

Awed I am. I took one glance at the forecast last night and decided today would be a "personal work at home day". We shall see how much work gets done.

Re: Oh! Darling Sabotabby!

I do! I mean, I did. But somehow one of the cats managed to change it from CBC to CHFI (I am not kidding; they're always brushing up against the dial) and so I was blasted with @#$% soft rock. I had to turn it off immediately.

I know, blame the cats ... like Hitler blaming the Jews.

I am awed by your willingness to bike on a day when they're calling for 25cm of snow and blizzard-like conditions.

What Blizzard?

Actually, I was counting on the heat-island effect to keep the snow at bay until I was safely home - and it worked, if only just. (I also parked the bike under cover, prepared to take the TTC had I been wrong. I cycled through all sorts of weather in Ottawa, but drivers there are used to winter conditions; here in Hogtown, they don't seem to understand that snow=slippery.)

My Cap, Your Cap

It's good to know I'm not the only lunatic among my LJ contacts. Pretty damned cold, wasn't it?

Re: My Cap, Your Cap

Either I was better-dressed, or I didn't have to ride as far. Though it's true, my finger-tips were numb when I got home tonight.
