Enjoyed the shit out of it. Would prefer Disruptive Influence to Clara as a companion but at least they didn't have the Doctor refusing to take along yet another black female companion. I hope they bring her back, though; she was great.

Be careful what you wish for

If the anti-choice propaganda hadn't distracted me, Courtney's morphing through all the varieties of teenage emo-dom in 30 minutes would have done it.

Re: Be careful what you wish for

I should post my whole rant about how it isn't actually anti-choice. But I would have to find it.

I still love her.

Re: Be careful what you wish for

I've been meaning to ask you to find the time to post that rant — and then tonight, you did.

I think you're wrong at first glance, but since you're you I'm going to give your words a serious second and third glance before rebutting — or tipping my hat to acknowledge your wisdom. We'll see.

But first I need to re-watch the Mummy episode. Please god, let it stand up to scrutiny! Capaldi's Tom Baker was gorgeous!

Well, it seems practically everyone I know saw the abortion allegory but me, so I'm willing to be open-minded on this. the_axel, who is British, however, was completely nonplussed when I told him everyone else was seeing it as an abortion allegory and insists that no one in the UK would read it as such. And Sandifer, who I regard as the expert in reading too much into DW, also didn't see it, FWIW.

But first I need to re-watch the Mummy episode. Please god, let it stand up to scrutiny! Capaldi's Tom Baker was gorgeous!

I hope it does! I mean, at the risk of TMI, that fulfilled a number of fantasies I didn't even know I had.

I used to! Either no one is replying to me or I don't get notifications.
