Curiouser and Curiouser [Feb. 17th, 2004|10:04 pm]
Young Geoffrey
[mood |confusedconfused]

My coffee-maker has me baffled. I pour in 6 cups of water and end up with maybe 4 and a half cups of coffee.

It's a mystery.

Re:

Now that's beyond a mere mystery; that sounds downright impossible, unless his abode is very damp indeed.

Mine does something similar. It's a total conspiracy. Someone is stealing my water!

As long as they stick to the water, I don't mind so much. But I'll be forced to do something about it if they start in on my liquor.

Re:

That almost sounds plausible (and, in fact, it sounds more plausible than anything but the conspiracy-theory) except that would be a hell of a lot of evaporation in 5 minutes.

Re:

evaportation, or alternate universe conspiracy to steal this universe's water!

For some reason I prefer the latter theory to the much more probable one that my cheap-assed coffee-maker has sprung a leak.

Well, it only cost me 15 bucks or so; another lesson learned. You often get what you pay for.
